2010 New York Mets Team Preview

The Mets were awful last year finishing 70-92 and this year is not looking much better.

Johan Santana is as good as it gets, but beyond that the rest of the rotation is pedestrian. Kelvim Escobar could add some production, but he was injured again in the spring and will miss several starts. The bullpen has Franciso Rodriguez and then a bunch of average relievers.

SS Jose Reyes is the Mets most dynamic player but he is expected to miss at least the first 4-5 games. Jason Bay was brought in for some more production from the LF spot but besides that the lineup is largely unchanged.

I look for the Mets to hang around .500 all year. I don't see them being a serious contender.
